(This post is less-sappy than the poem, I promise)
We had a lot of fun today, our first wedding anniversary. We had debated for the last couple weeks about what we should do, with possibilities ranging from dinner and a movie, camping, and dressing up in our wedding outfits and taking pictures in front of the Salt Lake City Temple. We decided that because of our busy schedules (mostly my schoolwork....dang full-load of classes), we would just have a nice steak dinner tonight. This morning we went up to Salt Lake City to see Music and the Spoken Word, which was a lot of fun (and serendipitous since the choir wore our wedding colors :), not to mention we heard the choir sing the day we got engaged).
Then this evening, after a loooooooong siesta (which means I'll be able to stay up late doing homework tonight), we buckled down on dinner. I cooked the steaks while Catherine did most of everything else (with me helping of course). The result was a delightful dinner including steaks, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, a cheesy rice casserole, corn, and lemonade. This is what the dinner looked like when finished.
We actually ate by candlelight (at least for the first little while), but the flash made it look like the lights were on. Just imagine a romantic scene lit by the two candles.
This is me, dressed up for the occasion.
And this is the beautiful Catherine, whose patience and lovingness made the year more than delightful.
